ADAPTER SPECIFICATIONS

The HP adapter for the 95LX outputs 9VAC, 13.5VA MAX. That's right: AC output. The 95LX has a full bridge rectifier. Obviously, DC input is just fine, too.

The official HP transformer says: Input: 120V AC 60Hz 20VA,

Output: 9VAC 13.5VA MAX.
