MAKE THE A DRIVE THE DEFAULT

MAKE THE A DRIVE THE DEFAULT

It is not possible to directly change the C:\_DAT default MEMO directory. However, here is a kludgy solution to make the default the A drive.

Hit in sequence: Shift-CHAR-F1. (You can actually choose any function key, F1 through F10.) If volume is on, you will hear a musical beep. You are now in User Key Learn Mode (see the User's Guide, page 21-14). You are ready to define a system macro - your own custom function key that will make A:\ the default MEMO directory.

Press the following keys in sequence: MEMO MENU File Open

Backspace (9 times) a:\ ENTER. Now turn off learn mode by pressing: Shift-CHAR-F1. You'll here another two tone signal. The 9 backspaces erased: C:\_DAT\*.TXT.

You now have a user macro. Press CHAR F1, and you'll find yourself in MEMO ready to retrieve (open) a file from the A:\ directory.
