TRANSFERRING DATA BETWEEN PALMTOPS VIA THE INFRARED PORT
You can transfer data between any two Palmtops via the infrared link, but the transfer rate is slower when the 95LX is involved. If I'm transferring between two 95LXs or between a 95LX and a 100LX, the maximum transfer rate is 2400 baud. If the transfer is between two 100LXs, the rate is 115,200 baud.
Set the Palmtops up as follows:
ON THE 95LX
Go into FILER and press (MENU) Remote-Set, Config, Interface, 3 (Infrared) to set the port and Baud 3 (2400) to set the baud rate.
ON THE 100LX
Go into FILER and press (MENU) Communications Remote Settings..., to select 2400 baud and Infrared.
Next place the two Palmtops on a flat surface a few inches apart with the IR ports facing each other. (One Palmtop will be turned around so that its keypad is adjacent to the other Palmtop's keypad.)
To connect, press (F7) in FILER on the Palmtop you wish to use as the Server (i.e. the one you'll be using to type in commands). If you're transferring files between a 95LX and 100LX, initiate the connection using the 95LX, since on the 100LX the port is turned off in FILER and will not respond when you initiate from the 100LX.
If you have any problems establishing a connection, make sure you try putting the Palmtops on a different surface, since some surfaces can reflect infrared waves and cause problems.
