100LX Database category limits?

A 100LX Database (also, Phone and NoteTaker) file is limited to one category field. A category field provides a drop down list of categories, which you can use to find records in you database. As you use your database you can add new categories to the drop-down list. You may reach a point where you can't add new categories.

There is a limit of 256 total characters for the entire list of categories within a category field. Therefore, if you want to use a larger number of categories in your category list, you will need to use abbreviations or you will quickly reach the 256 character limit.

To delete a category, make sure that it is not selected in any records, open the category list, select the category and press (DEL).
