Using the 200LX to Cheat
One use for a Palmtop computer that many students see right away is to
use it to help out (i.e., cheat) on exams. It's no secret that calculators
like the HP48 and the TI-8x series can be used to store notes. On a Palmtop
this is taken to a whole new level. Entire textbooks of information could
be carried into an examination and used.
I don't use my Palmtop in this way because of my ethical convictions.
I bolster my ethical convictions with the dire thought that I might get
caught and my Palmtop would be confiscated and held indefinitely for evidence.
If that happened, not only would I be out of school, I'd be out of business
and maybe even out of my mind.
