Diagnostic Software

If you have a copy of the HP Connectivity Pack, you also have three diagnostic programs that will work on the HP Palmtop: APPMEM, APPDRV, APPCOM. Of course, copyright rules mean that you can't run the same software on both your desktop and Palmtop at the same time. All of the programs are DOS programs and can be run from Filer or App Mgr. They're all under 10K bytes in size.

APPMEM is a memory mapping program that lists all the files currently loaded into working memory along with the number of bytes used by each.

APPDRV lists all the available disk drives on the computer and whether they're in use or not.

APPCOM will search for all the serial ports in the computer and, with the /I switch will display the name of the port (COM1, COM2), the address of the port and the IRQ number in use.
