USING FILER'S SPLIT FUNCTION TO VIEW C AND A DRIVE AT THE SAME TIME
USING FILER'S SPLIT FUNCTION TO VIEW C AND A DRIVE AT THE SAME TIME
In FILER, you can use the Split function to simultaneously view the contents
of two different directories on the same drive. Let's say you wanted to
compare the contents of your C drive and the C:\_DAT directory. In the
C drive, press (F7) (Split). There will now be mirror images of C drive.
Highlight _DAT and press (ENTER). Now you see the contents of _DAT on one
side of the screen, and the basic index of C drive on the other. You can
view the complete contents of either drive by pressing (F7) (Full), so
long as the highlighting is on the side of the screen you wish to view.
The same principles work if you want to look at the C and A drives at
the same time. Press (F7) (Split) and you will see two C drive screens.
Now press (F5) (Goto) A: (ENTER). The side of the split screen with the
highlighting on it will now show the contents of the A drive.
Split screens are extremely helpful in Copying or Moving files in Filer.
With Split screens, you can see the computer actually do the work.
