Winners of the HP User Profile Contest!

Hewlett-Packard and The HP Palmtop Paper would like to thank everyone who took time out of busy schedules to write up and send in descriptions of how you use the 95LX. It was more than a little difficult to select the three "best" stories. Each person had some unique and creative application for this amazing little machine.

Reading all the different experiences was literally taking a trip around the world, from horseback riding in Spain to a bumpy ride on a Turkish commuter train; from computerized ham radio communications in Peru to trading options at a Tokyo restaurant during dinner; from large scale farming in California to oil drilling in the Arabian desert. We heard from a doctor in India doing radiation research, an epidemiologist in Puerto Rico and an ophthalmologist in Mexico. Other entries included an international salesperson; real estate agents; students in business, chemistry, programming and electrical engineering; a medical researcher keeping morbidity statistics; a business professional keeping client and vendor lists, family birthdays, stock prices, amortization schedules, interest rates, and train schedules.

Every entry was good, and we had to choose three! We looked for entries that thoroughly used the 95LX in interesting, unique ways. We picked three who win the 1 megabyte RAM card: Blair Saunders, cyclist/ MIS (published on page 29 of this issue); John Chimits, farmer; Jorge Heraud, research scientist. But in truth, we had so many top quality entries that we decided to give full 1992 Subscriptions to The HP Palmtop Paper ON DISK to the next six runners up: Murray Besler, educator; S. Mehta, medical scientist; Niles Hanson, in precision manufacturing; Douglas Gilbert, student; Jose Becerra, epidemiologist; Mark Snyder, engineer, pharmaceuticals. In addition, the first 50 entries have already received 128K RAM cards from HP.

We have just mentioned a few of the profiles sent to us. All of the entries were "winners" in our minds, and we intend on publishing many more of them as full features, and including many of the details, tips and miscellaneous information from many of these stories in future issues of The HP Palmtop Paper.
