RECOVERING FROM A TRASHED RAM DRIVE

RECOVERING FROM A TRASHED RAM DRIVE

The messages, "RAM disk corrupt" and "Data error..." indicate that your RAM drive has been trashed. This means that some files can no longer be read.

If you do not have a backup of your files, you should first try to transfer all files that are not corrupted to your desktop PC (using the HP connectivity pack or some other file transfer software).

Then do a hard reboot (press (CTRL)-(<Shift>)-(ON)) and answer Yes when asked if you want to initialize the RAM disk. This will reformat your disk, ERASING ALL DATA! The disk is no longer corrupted, but your files are gone.

You can then transfer your backed up files from the desktop PC to the HP. This should solve your problems with data errors.
